Meryl Streep and Sandra Bullock Shares 2010 Critics` Choice, Full Winners List
Meryl Streep and Sandra Bullock have given a nice twist to the 15th Annual Critics` Choice Awards. When the Broadcast Film Critics Association gave out the trophies to the winners of this year`s Critics` Choice on Friday night, January 15, it came into view that the two A-listers have won the title of Best Actress.
Nominated along with Emily Blunt, Carey Mulligan, Saoirse Ronan and Gabourey Sidibe for their performance in "Julie & Julia" and "The Blind Side" respectively, Streep and Bullock ended up in tie for the kudo. They were announced as the title`s recipient by "The Hangover" star Bradley Cooper.
Beside the two, director Kathryn Bigelow also stole attention on the special night when she won Best Director for her work in "The Hurt Locker". She bested over other helmers, James Cameron, Lee Daniels, Clint Eastwood, Jason Reitman and Quentin Tarantino, and became the first woman to ever win the award.
In terms of nods by movies, "Avatar" swept the awards by collecting six kudos, being the movie with the most win on the special night. It won Best Action Movie in addition to five other technical categories. Following behind the Sam Worthington-starring movie was "Inglourious Basterds" with three counts.
The gala ceremony for the 15th Annual Critics` Choice Awards took place at the Hollywood Palladium in Hollywood, California. Hosted by Kristin Chenoweth, it was broadcast by VH1. Zac Efron, Kristen Bell and Josh Duhamel were among the presenters on the special night, while Nick Jonas and his side project Nick Jonas and The Administration served as the house band.
